This author reminds me of an artist, full of eclectic spontaneity and word whimsy.  C.A. Mullins Day Drunk Blues: A Memoir in G (Part 1) has charming typed pages, rudimentary drawings and parallel prose interwoven with poetic interludes encouraging the reader to take pause, indulge in the words, understand the characters and relate. Frank terms are used as his poems touch topics of romance, love, humor, lust, history and how it plays a part in all of our lives, the ordinary and extraordinary. Many stories are told in this book Day Drunk Blues: A Memoir in G (Part 1) by C. A. Mullins so read carefully, much is said and left unsaid. I look forward to reading the next part; this is a story for people who like quirky, ironic, thought provoking and surprising reads. Most of all real life and how everyday living can be humorous and numbing.
